Please note that in order to graduate, every MA and PhD student should have a language proficiency document in their files. Previous diplomas are not accepted as proficiency documents. These should be certificates earned by taking language proficiency exams accepted by our university. According to the Regulations for Graduate Studies, you can submit one of the following:

• At least a C grade from the NPT exam administered by NEU within the last 5 years.
• At least 55 for MA and 60 for PhD students from exams accepted by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖKDİL, YDS, e-YDS, KPDS ve ÜDS).
• For MA: At least 66 from TOEFL IBT, at least 514 from TOEFL PBT, at least 184 from TOEFL CBT OR at least 5.5 from IELTS.
• For PhD: At least 72 from TOEFL IBT, at least 530 from TOEFL PBT, at least 190 from TOEFL CBT OR at least 6.0 from IELTS.
• At least 50 from EPTT administered by NEU within the last 5 years.

Exam results for exams administered by the Higher Education Council of Turkey is valid for 5 years. For all others, validity period is 3 years.
